All Natural Doggy Shampoo and Flea Spray with Essential OIls

We just got a puppy…so exciting!  We have been a cat family for 8 years and have our beloved orange tabby and our treasured gray tabby.  They couldn’t be more different from each other!  Flynn is very friendly and we affectionately call him our “diger” as he looks sort of tiger like, but acts like a dog.  Lilly is very skittish, but when she rewards you with a purr it feels so satisfying!  Our dear Annie joined our family 7 weeks ago.  Annie is short for the Annihilator as she really is a puppy with all her puppy tendencies!

Here is a picture of Annie and Flynn hanging out on the gravel pile delivered to our house as we began building our fence, a must have for our dear puppy!

Flynn&Annie

Now that we are heading into the summer months, I began to notice Annie was scratching and I suspected fleas.  Because I have been using essential oils to improve the health of my family for several years now, I wanted to keep the same high standard of natural solutions for the newest member.  After doing some research I put together this lovely doggy shampoo and flea spray.  The best part was that I already had all the ingredients!  I love that Annie is clean, free of fleas, her skin is nourished, her coat is shiny, AND she smells great!  Enjoy these easy to make recipes and thank you for taking such good care of your furry friend!

Doggy Shampoo

What you will need:

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a jar before pouring into a bottle.

  2. Shake the bottle each time you use the shampoo.

  3. Lather well on your dog when bathing and rinse well.

Tips:

I reuse an empty Witch Hazel squeeze bottle.  I like how easy it is to apply the shampoo right where I want it instead of pouring it into my hand and then applying.
